WATCH: Movie trailers to get you excited for the return of cinemas this 2022
‘The Matrix’ and ‘The Batman’ take the lead followed by ‘Fantastic Beasts’
MTRCB announced that even at Alert Level 3 COVID-19 status in NCR+, cinemas will stay operational. This means you could still go to the moviehouse and catch must-see films coming this year, with proper safety measures, of course.
From Neo of “The Matrix,” Bruce Wayne who’s back with vengeance, and Newt Scamander of “Fantastic Beasts” franchise slated to unravel the secrets of Dumbledore, let us get you more excited with these titles from Warner Bros. coming this year.
Neo and Trinity are back at it again as “The Matrix: Resurrections” premieres Jan. 12. From filmmaker Lana Wachowski, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will once again play one of their most iconic roles from the franchise after the last installment back in 2003.
Will Smith to play “King Richard” in a film based on a true story. The film follows the journey of Richard Williams who is instrumental in raising two of the most gifted athletes of all time, Venus and Serena, meant to change the sport of tennis forever. “King Richard” opens Feb. 16.
The newest Batman, Robert Pattinson will be going against The Riddler (Edward Nashton) for the latest movie. Like Robert, new actors will also be playing Batman’s iconic characters like Catwoman who will be portrayed by Zoe Kravitz and The Penguin played by Collin Farrell. “The Batman” opens March 2022.
In April this year, Eddie Redmayne who plays Newt Scamander in “Fantastic Beasts” will lead a courageous team of wizards and witches to stop Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) and his growing legion of followers from taking control of the wizarding world. Having a pact with Grindelwald, will professor Albus Dumbledore stay on the sidelines when the stakes are so high?
Aside from these titles, more movies from Warner Bros are coming this year. “DC League of Super-pets” will open May this year. Dates and trailers for “Elvis,” “Black Adam,” “’Salem’s Lot,” “Don’t Worry Darling,” “The Flash,” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” have yet to be revealed.
