Creative director Jonny Johansson goes nomadic
“Being in isolation has made me realize how much we are used to traveling. This led me to think about nomadic communities, like those in the north of Sweden near where I grew up. This collection is about how a language of clothing evolves within communities, mixing and contrasting pieces together,” Jonny Johansson, co-founder and creative director of fashion label Acne Studios, shared about his latest offering.
The use of earthy palette on cozy and fluffy pieces gave the collection a homey feel even when the collection centers on a nomadic community. Textures were the star of the collection using various patchwork which are carefully mismatched and layered with other textiles to tie up with the theme. Outerwear and cover-ups appeared in heavy materials of knits, fleece, and leathers just like armors a nomad should be equipped with.
