The Pearl of the Orient gets the New Era treatment
Inspired by the seas, symbols, and stories that shape the Philippines, this collection wears its roots proudly
For Philippine Independence Day 2026, New Era Philippines introduces “Perlas ng Silangan,” a collection inspired by one of the country’s most beloved nicknames, “Pearl of the Orient.” Drawing from the beauty of the Philippine seas, the collection incorporates symbols such as pearls, clam shells, and the Nilad leaf, blending heritage with modern streetwear.

The release features three headwear silhouettes accented with colors inspired by the Philippine flag and thoughtful details that celebrate local culture. A standout is the “Perlas ng Silangan” side patch, which combines a clam shell graphic with the Philippine sun and the year 1898, commemorating the country’s declaration of independence on June 12, 1898.
The collection’s 59FIFTY cap showcases wave and shell-inspired patterns across the crown, while front-panel details includes a reimagined Philippine flag badge and embroidered “PH” script that adds subtle nods to national identity.
With “Perlas ng Silangan,” New Era proves that patriotism doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes, it’s as simple as wearing your pride on your crown.
