Salomon puts the X Ultra 5 to the test on the trail
The new hiking shoe debuted during the inaugural Talikasan X-Ultra hike in Laguna with the UP Mountaineers
Salomon Philippines took its newest hiking shoe out of the store and onto the trail with the inaugural Talikasan X-Ultra hike, held in partnership with the UP Mountaineers at Buntot Palos in Pangil, Laguna.
Just a couple of hours from Metro Manila, the scenic trek to the Hidden Falls served as the perfect testing ground for the new X Ultra 5. The route combined grassy paths, rocky terrain, and muddy sections, giving participants a firsthand look at how the shoe performs across different trail conditions.
Designed to sit between a backpacking boot and a trail running shoe, the X Ultra 5 is built for hikers who want lightweight comfort without compromising stability. Whether tackling steep climbs or slippery descents, the shoe is made to inspire confidence on every adventure.
The event also marked the beginning of Salomon Philippines’ partnership with the UP Mountaineers, one of the country’s longest-running university-based mountaineering organizations. Together, the two aim to promote responsible outdoor exploration through more hikes and community activities in the months ahead.
