SUMMER 2024: Saint Laurent embraces structure and reveals skin

Anthony Vaccarello highlights male shoulders and chest

Saint Laurent continues to blur the lines between femininity and masculinity, building upon its fall 2023 collection showcased in January.

For spring-summer 2024, designer Anthony Vaccarello accentuates male shoulders through sharp tailoring or the absence thereof, exposing clavicles and the chest area with plunging necklines.

The show opens with three men donning tuxedos featuring sharp and exaggerated shoulders. These jackets are paired with slim, tailored pants that graze the ankles, revealing chunky-heeled, pointy boots.

Subsequent looks maintain the emphasis on pronounced shoulders, while exposing more of the chest through plunging necklines in black and white satin.

In addition to the plunging necklines, Saint Laurent reveals more skin on the shoulders through halter tops, available in deep colors and occasionally adorned with animal prints. Asymmetrical tops also make an appearance on the runway, featuring flowy trains that graze the floor or chiffon tops that wrap around the shoulders.
