Japanese musician Kenshi Yonezu stars in Loewe’s Fall 2023 campaign

While Kenshi Yonezu’s chart-topping song “Lemon” might have introduced you to his artistry, there is much more to uncover about the Japanese musician, including his recent collaboration with the Spanish fashion house Loewe.
As we are aware, Loewe has a longstanding partnership with Studio Ghibli, a shared connection with the newest face of their fall 2023 campaign, Kenshi Yonezu. He is the artist behind the song “Spinning Globe,” the theme song for Studio Ghibli’s latest film “The Boy and the Heron.” This movie also happens to be the final project of the studio’s founder and director, Hayao Miyazaki.
In this campaign, the musician offers a peek into his creative space, showcasing novels, comics, and memorabilia that have influenced his youth and creative journey. Alongside his personal items, the campaign highlights remarkable pieces from Loewe, including the new Puzzle Fold tote, metal angel wings that debuted on the fall 2023 runway, an intricately crafted twisted coat made from soft nappa lambskin, lace-up derby shoes with exaggerated round toes, pixelated jeans, a denim jacket, the Puzzle bag featuring a vibrant red mushroom pattern, and the Cubi Crossbody bag. Additionally, various versions of small leather goods are presented.
“It’s an honor to collaborate with Kenshi Yonezu, one of the most influential music artists in Asia,” shared Jonathan Anderson, Loewe’s creative director. “I often explore themes of male sensibility in the collection, and I think the ambiguous, introspective energy of Kenshi’s music naturally resonates with this aspect of Loewe menswear. With Loewe celebrating 50 years in Japan, the timing is also perfect. We look forward to continuing this kind of meaningful cultural dialogue.”
In the Philippines, you can find Loewe at Shangri-La Plaza Mall East Wing and Greenbelt 3 in Ayala Center, Makati.
