Featuring Balenciaga fall 2022 collection, the ‘360˚ Show’
“The war in Ukraine has triggered the pain of a past trauma I have carried in me since 1993, when the same thing happened in my home country and I became a forever refugee,” penned Demna in a lengthy letter posted on Balenciaga’s Instagram story.
The Georgian fashion designer dedicated the Balenciaga show to the war happening in Ukraine right now as well as the climate change the earth is facing. The presentation was called the “360˚ Show” which started with Ukrainian flags laid on the seats of the viewers. Through a looking glass, the models walked the icy runway where snow and wind wildly clashed, blowing away soft and flowy silhouettes from the collection.
Hybrids of hoodies, asymmetric dresses, and other outerwear filled the runway as well jackets with padded shoulders. Accessories were kept minimal but sneakers stayed noticeably chunky. Black pieces paraded the show but the last two looks in solid yellow and solid blue were statements that need no explanation.
