This June 2024, Birkenstock introduces new silhouettes ready to welcome the elements. As we embrace the rain this season brings, you can wear Birks sandals without fear of getting them wet, thanks to the newest silhouette called Shinjuku, which can withstand water and provide stability on any surface.
Inspired by the bustling and artistic city of Tokyo, Japan, this sandal boasts a combination of natural materials and an innovative outsole. The anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed is lined with microfiber, and the sandal’s optimized one-component outsole is designed to allow water to drain easily and enable street usage on concrete grounds. The shoe also features a high-quality water-repellent upper and full-metal rust-proof buckles, creating footwear that is built to last.
Another exciting release from the brand is the new iteration of the Zurich model. Boasting a new utilitarian design, the Zurich Tech takes cues from the functionality of winter sporting gear. The classic Birks buckle is replaced by a monochromatic, adjustable black fastening to customize the fit for optimal support, while the upper features suede materials and a lightweight EVA outsole for comfort and durability without compromising weight.
