You know it’s going to be good when Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep are part of the cast
What do you get when you put award-winning actors like Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Lawrence, and Leonardo DiCaprio in one film? You get a must-see movie about the comet possibly ending all life on earth.
Directed by Adam McKay, the same director who made the film “The Big Short,” “Don’t Look Up” centers on Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence), an astronomy grad student, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) who made a discovery of a comet orbiting the solar system and indicating a possible direct collision with Earth.
Aside from the big comet problem, another problem on the rise is that mankind doesn’t seem to care about the planet-killer. This is where President Orlean (Meryl Streep) and morning show host Brie (Cate Blanchett) come to play. With only six months until the comet makes impact, managing the 24-hour news cycle and gaining the attention of the social media-obsessed public before it’s too late proves shockingly comical. What do you think will it take for people to look up?
Aside from the mentioned stars, also making appearances on the film are Ariana Grande, Timothee Chalamet, Kid Cudi, Jonah Hill, Tyler Perry and more.
