Luxury fashion label Tod’s launches spring 2021 through virtual presentation
While some designers opted to present their latest collections via physical shows despite the pandemic, Tod’s had a different approach, taking us inside the Tod’s studio for an insider’s look at its Spring 2021 pre-collections.
The launch opened with a video of the brand’s creative director, Walter Chiapponi. He was then followed by camera as he walked through Tod’s headquarters – the design studios, research departments, and workshops showing where the products are made, starting from the very first phases in the creative process, then moving to the mood boards, prototypes, and design.
The collection exuded the spirit of ‘70s films, which Chiaponni confirmed he’s heavily influenced by. Some of the notable pieces in the collection are the men’s purple suede loafers and the timeless leather t-belts. As for women’s, the leather-accented sneakers, the lace-up boots with a buckle, and the khaki-leather bag are the standouts. The clothes were a hit too, featuring leather pieces, corduroys, and various washes of denim that take the form of jackets, coats, shirts, and pants.
