Tod’s announces exclusive collaboration with Japanese brand Hender Scheme

The collection will be called “New Craft”

Italian luxury brand Tod’s has just announced an upcoming collaboration with leather goods label Hender Scheme.

Hender Scheme is a Japanese footwear and accessories label based in Tokyo which was founded by designer Ryo Kashiwazaki. It is known for reproducing popular sneaker models such as Nike’s Air Force 1 and Air Jordan IV in premium leather entirely by hand.

Ryo Kashiwazaki will be working with Tod’s creative director Walter Chiapponi to decipher the creativity and craftsmanship of Tod’s and give it his own innovative twist.

Tod’s legacy and Hender Scheme’s contemporary approach called “New Craft” is part of Tod’s Factory, which is a creative laboratory at Tod’s. The laboratory is born to feature innovative and unconventional projects in collaboration with designers and artists from the world of luxury and design. The talents are given access to the iconographic heritage, Italian artisanal excellence and know-how of Tod’s, which they use to interpret and translate into products with complete creative freedom.

The capsule collection will launch in September with an event during Milan Fashion Week. The collection will immediately be available after the presentation via select Tod’s boutiques and Tods.com.
