THE 75TH GOLDEN GLOBES
January 7 | California, USA

The Golden Globe Awards red carpet this year saw a parade of black ensembles worn by actresses who wanted to express their support of the Time’s Up movement, an initiative launched by Hollywood actresses and producers to fight against sexual harassment and abuse in all industries and offer financial support through its Legal Defense Fund to lower-income women who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, or abuse in the workplace.

A number of actors also showed support of the movement by sporting a Time’s Up pin on their lapels, though none of them really spoke up about the cause behind it, or even about gender inequality at all, in their interviews. Some even had the gall to wear a Time’s Up pin despite their previous actions that show how little they really regard women; Justin Timberlake, James FrancoGary Oldman, and, as of breaking news this afternoon, Aziz Ansari were the most glaring examples. So it was really a show of performative wokeness at its mutest and most hypocritical.
