Here’s how you can build pecs like Atom Araullo

Chest exercises to include in your upper body workout

From his early days on “5 and Up” to his latest endeavors, Atom Araullo has always been one to watch out for. We’ve seen his growth as a multidisciplinary journalist from being a children’s host presenter to an award-winning documentarist. Now, we also have been noticing how he takes fitness more seriously as he is now fit more than ever.  

In a recent video shared by his trainer who has been documenting his transformation, he’s shared some clips of exercises Atom does to stay in shape. He’s been doing body weight exercises, machine exercises, and well as free weight weight exercises. We’ve also noticed how his trainer give special attention to his upper body which includes chest exercises. And one routine that he doesn’t leave out of his gym time is the Chest Fly.

One variation of the Chest Fly which Atom doesn’t skip is the Lying Chest Fly. It is done by lying on a flat bench with dumbbell in each hand, palms facing each other. Starting on a “T” position, arms are pressed up together to touch each weights above the chest. After which, arms are lowered back with focus on relaxing the shoulders and working the chest.

Atom also trains close to failure, this means finishing a set with a repetition to the point of momentary muscular failure, which when done safely, leads to increase of strength overtime.
