ICYMI*: Esprit’s recently launched retro collection relives the light and bright ’80s
Yup, the ’80s nostalgia is, indeed, in full swing, and the biggest indicator is how more retail stores are getting into the decade’s fun, youthful (and kind of crazy, kind of tacky) spirit.
Just take a look at Esprit’s Retro Collection. Inspired by the brand’s heritage, it harks back to what seemed like endless summers of our teenage years with the relaxed fit and the sunny, bright colors of its pieces. The Esprit logo is front and center, dominating sweatshirts and tees, though multi-color stripes also get some shine.
Paired with equally relaxed jeans and denim shorts, and worn with mid-length socks and colorful sneakers, the collection appeals to our chill inner dorks who’d like to take a breather from the too studied looks filling up our social media feeds.
Oh, and another big plus: the clothes from the collection are made sustainably with organic material (mainly organic cotton and viscose), as Esprit is a Learning Member of the Better Cotton Initiative. The brand also works in collaboration with Canopy, a global organization that helps shape the purchasing practices of over 750 of the forest industry’s largest customers, from book publishers and printers to leading clothing brands and fashion designers, to create permanent solutions for the world’s threatened forests.
*In case you missed it
