Street Dapper King 2024: Brandon Espiritu
Brandon Espiritu is more than just his striking physique. With an impressive list of achievements, including his success as a model, a thriving businessman, and securing the title of second runner-up at the 2024 Mr. Supranational competition, his journey is one of perseverance and dedication.
While his accomplishments may seem like the result of a seamless path, few are aware of the challenges he has faced along the way. In a candid conversation, Brandon opens up about his life behind the spotlight and offers a glimpse into the journey that shaped him into the man he is today.
How would you describe your personal style?
I’d describe it as timeless or classic. When I was younger, I used to buy things just because they were on sale or because they were cheap. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve developed a more curated sense of style, blending different influences like street style and tailored suits. Whether it’s something inspired by hip-hop or various subcultures, I always make sure the pieces I choose will last me for years—ideally, 10 years or more.
What’s your current fashion obsession?
Right now, it’s my first luxury watch—a Rolex Wimbledon. It holds a lot of meaning for me. Back in 2017, I was on vacation with my dad after being fired from my first corporate job. I had just $170 to my name, and we visited the Rolex store at Powerplant Mall. I tried on the Rolex Datejust and made a video, telling myself I would own one before I turned 30. Two years ago, after scaling my fitness business, I made that dream a reality when I bought it in Hawaii. The watch represents overcoming adversity and staying true to your goals.
Who’s your style icon?
I admire David Beckham a lot, not just for his style but for his meticulous approach to his wardrobe. He has everything color-coded and organized, which I love. There’s an obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) element to how he treats his clothes, but he also has this effortless swagger, whether he’s wearing a suit or dressing down. He always looks impeccable.
What’s one look that makes you feel most confident?
I call it my “Steve Jobs uniform”—I wear it almost all the time. It’s simple but versatile: a black or white tank top, navy blue slacks, YSL boots, an oversized blazer, and sunglasses. It’s an outfit I can wear to a business meeting or just to have fun. It’s classic and works for any occasion.
What are your grooming essentials?
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started prioritizing my skincare routine. I’m the creative director for Camou For Men, a men’s skincare line that launched last year, and I’m honestly obsessed with our products. I use our charcoal-infused face wash with tea tree oil, followed by the A.M. serum in the morning. At night, I switch to the P.M. serum, which contains retinol. And I always make sure to wear sunscreen during the day to prevent wrinkles.
What’s your favorite scent?
My all-time favorite cologne is Meteor by Louis Vuitton, but right now, I’m really into Le Labo’s Another 13. It’s become a go-to for me recently.
Through his personal reflections on style, grooming, and life lessons, Brandon Espiritu shows that his success stems from discipline, vision, and a commitment to staying true to himself. His journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and self-belief.
