The ‘Linlang’ actor shares fitness journey on Instagram
Everyone loves a captivating transformation story, and actor Paulo Avelino just delivered an impressive one by showcasing before-and-after pictures of his fitness journey on Instagram. The post quickly garnered more than 100K likes on the platform.
Captioning the actor’s two topless photos, he stated, “My 2023 in a nutshell.” Paulo, who rarely shares his personal life on Instagram, began his fitness journey by training with fellow former Century Tuna Superbod ambassador Mauro Lumba.
In April 2023, he shared a video of himself sparring with Mauro, followed by a series of posts from May to July, documenting his ongoing training with the fitness coach. He then revealed that the fitness journey he was in was for his series. “Down to my last training session for Linlang, and all I can say is it’s been a crazy journey! I started training a few months ago with specific goals and timelines,” shared the actor.
He also mentioned how boxing can be quite challenging but with persistence and consistency, goals can be achieved. “Boxing was a different beast of its own. I’ve been recording my training non-stop and reviewing them daily to see my mistakes and how I can improve even more when not training. And it wasn’t easy, especially when I had to start cutting my weight, waking up extra early to work out, going to work, and repeating this cycle since we started the show. It was frustrating and exhausting at times, but I had to be loyal to the journey of my character, and that was my motivation throughout the show,” said Paulo.
Although he skipped posts in August and September, Paulo returned with another boxing video, showcasing a leaner figure on October.
The actor also posted videos of himself actively engaging in Plyometric training, involving short, intense bursts of activity targeting fast-twitch muscle fibers in the lower body, along with other weighted exercises.
Fast forward to December, Paulo shared the transformation images, receiving applause from his fellow actors. Jake Cuenca commented, “The one and only Paulo Avelino.” Bea Alonzo exclaimed, “Galing” in all caps, while Drew Arellano posted, “Witnessed (still witnessing) the grind, bro. Proud of you,” in the comment section.
Accompanying the transformation pictures was an announcement that his series “Linlang” will premiere on free TV starting Jan. 22. The Prime Video series stars the actor alongside Kim Chiu, JM Rodriguez, and Kaela Estrada.
