Here’s what went down at Go Skateboarding Day 2023

Continuous support for the skateboarding community in the Philippines

Go Skateboarding Day was initiated in 2004 by the International Association of Skateboarding. Since then, it has become the “official” skateboarding holiday for skateboarders and skate fans in general. During the celebration, individuals from all walks of life are encouraged to take part in the joy of skateboarding, and Vans is one of the brands that has fully supported this cause.

In the Philippines, Go Skateboarding Day was celebrated on June 17, 2023. Vans Philippines joined forces with the skate community, including skate brands like The Rail, Calle, and Quilla, to host the event at the Metrotent Convention Center in Pasig City.

One of the highlights of this event was the Skate Clinic, which featured accomplished riders from Skatemunchkins—a group of skaters who support equal rights for women in skateboarding. Skatemunchkins shared their expertise with over a thousand children and girls, enabling them to grasp the fundamentals of the sport.

The event also hosted live musical performances and friendly skateboarding challenges, further uniting the community.
