R&B artist YB Neet takes more motivational route to songwriting

While some of us were busy being a plant parent or prioritizing self-care during the lockdown, this young artist took his time and fed his passion for music. Young Blood Neet, a.k.a. YB Neet, may be a rookie in the industry, but he’s got the flow and a lot of stories to tell like a pro.
Within his two years in the trade, he has collaborated with local artists like Flow-G of Ex-Batallion, and Omar Baliw for his single “Di Matangay.” This R&B artist’s grasp of flow, lyricism, and wit gained him a reputation among top creative Filipino music artists and became one of the most sought-after collaborators of the moment.
“Yun yung una kong nabuo na kanta. I tried doing R&B at iba-ibang kanta, pero dito siya nabuo,” shared the artist on how he decided on going for the R&B genre. “Sinusulat ko kadalasan pampagana, pampagaan ng pakiramdam. Pag pinapakinggan nila, kumakalma sila. Pag bad trip na sila, YB Neet,” added the artist.
One of his hit songs, “Dem Dayz,” which he released on his birthday last July proved that his writing style is brilliant. The song spoke of his humble beginnings, and how it takes a dream to make big things happen. YB Neet also shared how he frames his whole process through his life stories saying, “Kasi yun yung dinadaan ko. Mahirap magsulat ng kanta na di mo nadaanan o naranasan. Magtutunog pilit siya. I want to motivate, but it can’t be from out of nowhere. People won’t feel it.”
As of the moment, YB Neet has completed his new set of tracks under the title “Meta,” which will be available this December.
“Big Ape,” an album which he released last year along with other singles, tracks, and collaborations, are now available to stream on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music.
