New Balance puts its best foot forward with new silhouette, the 9060
Highlighting the Y2K era
New Balance has truly gained its footing when it comes to the lifestyle community. With the rise of dad sneakers, the brand is one of the most active footwear makers innovating the silhouette.
This July, New Balance officially adds another piece to its portfolio. Welcome the 9060 model which remixes signature design with hints and bits of the Y2K era.
“The 9060 is a new expression of the refined style and innovation-led design that have made the 99X series home to some of the most iconic models in New Balance history,” describes the brand. “The 9060 reinterprets familiar elements sourced from classic 99X models with a warped sensibility inspired by the proudly futuristic, visible tech aesthetic of the Y2K era.”
The sneakers feature sway bar designs on the upper, taking inspiration from the 990 silhouette while the midsoles are sculpted with wavy designs not only giving visual emphasis but also support in cushioning. This model also sports the New Balance Abzorb feature which reduces shock and displaces energy to further support and protect the foot from impact.
For the launch, the campaign was spearheaded by American rapper Aminé, one of New Balance ambassadors, which was seen rocking the sneaker and giving the camera a 360-degree look on foot.
