Help end marine waste by running and exercising for 10 minutes

Adidas invites Filipinos to join the movement toward cleaner oceans

Adidas Philippines commits to help end plastic waste with the launch of Run for the Oceans campaign. This season, the brand invites everybody to run, walk, cycle, hike, and even play ball to help aid the marine plastic pollution we’re all experiencing.

With every 10 minutes of running recorded on the Adidas Runtastic app, Joyrun, Codoon, Yeudongquan, or Strava, global alliance Parley will clean up the equivalent weight of one plastic bottle from beaches, remote islands, and coastlines before these junks reach the waters.

“Starting May 9, 2022, interested groups and individuals can sign-up to Run for the Oceans through the Adidas running app which will also be used to track and log their runs,” states Adidas Philippines. “Adidas, in collaboration with its running community Adidas Runners Manila, will also be hosting a series of runs and activities throughout the month that interested Filipinos may join to start logging their runs in their personal efforts to help end plastic waste.”

Two of the activities where runners can participate in are the AR City Plogging Challenge and 10-minute Store Challenge. For the first one, everyone can join Adidas Runners Manila in picking up plastic waste on May 22, 2022 from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. with starting points at Adidas Mall of Asia, Adidas Brand Center Glorietta, and Adidas Two Parkade, BGC.

The other activity allows participants to do a 10-minute run to benefit the oceans in select Adidas stores. From May 23 to June 8, 2022, participating stores will be Two Parkade BGC, SM Mall of Asia, Brand Center Glorietta, and Trinoma.
