Here’s a closer look at the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collaboration

Created by Virgil Abloh before his passing

The world of fashion continues to live through Virgil Abloh’s creativity with the launch of a new collab footwear of two sought-after brands. This May, Louis Vuitton and Nike will be holding activations for a partnership built by the visionary. Virgil, who considered Nike’s Air Force 1 as a cultural symbol, dedicated his time in visualizing one of the most high-end sneakers to exist in the industry.

First seen as part of the Louis Vuitton spring-summer 2022 men’s collection, the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 will be on display in exhibition in New York from May 21 to 31 at the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse in Brooklyn. Titled “’Air Force 1’ by Virgil Abloh’” the exhibit will showcase the creative dialogue between the brands before the public. The display will feature 47 iterations of the iconic sneakers which were created by Virgil before his passing last November 28, 2021.

Among the 47 models, a standout is an all-white piece embossed with the Louis Vuitton monogram and the Nike insignia. Posted on Louis Vuitton’s socials, the house offers a peek on how the high-end footwear was created in the maison’s atelier in Fiesso d’Artico, Italy. The video showcased the footwear as meticulously crafted and polished by one of their artisans. See the video below:

Out of the 47 sneakers, nine of which (including the all-white iteration) are said to be available for sale this coming June.
