Ronnie Alonte shares tips on how to wear matching fits this Valentine’s Day

Ronnie Alonte does not only like to show off his dancing skills but also his personal style. This Valentine’s Day, the actor counts his tips on how to match clothes with your loved one without looking too cheesy. Loisa Andalio, Penshoppe ambassador and Ronnie’s real-life love interest, also joins the fun in styling perfectly matched clothes.
From complementing colors to knowing the right time to match, here are tips that you can use on the day of hearts or even on a day to day basis.
Tip 1: Timing is everything
Loisa: The best time to match is when you’re celebrating – anniversaries, milestones, birthdays, and the like. “Ang saya balikan ng mga ganoong moments in photos or videos tapos makikita niyo ‘yung effort that you both put into celebrating and complementing each other.”
Ronnie: “Gusto ko ‘yung nagma-match tuwing may event, because it’s one way of showing that you are there as a team, na nandoon kayo para sa isa’t isa to support and cheer each other on.”
Tip 2: Make sure to complement each other. Talking about color palette and dress code are key.
Ronnie: “Agree on the color palette and on the dress code – if casual ba or formal. Madali na gumawa ng isang buong look that complements each other’s outfits when you agree on those two things.”
Loisa: “Pareho naming gusto ‘yung earth tones, which are perfect for when you want to match because they’re all complementary. Thankfully, Penshoppe has a lot of earth- toned pieces, kaya hindi kami nahihirapan maghanap ng new styles when we want to switch up our matchy moments.”
Tip 3: Make sure to agree on a “go-to” matching fits
Loisa: “Hoodies are our favorite and our go-to fashion piece! I usually pick out the most oversized hoodie I can find, and I pair it with high socks and shoes. It’s comfortable but still very casually stylish at the same time.”
Ronnie: “Hoodie and shorts for me! Kami ni Loisa are almost always on-the-go talaga, so important for us ‘yung comfort and style that a hoodie ensemble wraps into one.”
Tip 4: Be ready to listen to each other’s ideas
Ronnie: “Minsan nga din we pick each other’s outfits for fun. Pareho kami ni Loisa ng taste in fashion and we’re very honest with each other, kaya hindi kami hirap o ilang magbigay ng advice sa isa’t isa.”
Loisa: “I trust in Ronnie’s judgment and he trusts in mine. We work as a team on and off-screen, kaya I’m comfortable with sharing my ideas and getting his sa lahat ng bagay, including fashion. That’s why it’s so fun to create these matchy moments with Ronnie.”
