Loewe presents altered reality for fall 2022
Let this collection be an illumination
Jonathan Anderson’s presentation for Loewe’s fall-winter 2022 is a representation of how he sees the metaverse. The collection is defined by the illusion and displacement of an alternate world, presented against the colorful artwork made by Joe McShea and Edgar Mosa.
“The body is the point of arrival and departure, nakedness reproduced in shrunken scale on trompe l’oeil pieces, the elementarity of underwear and base layers exposed as an external self. LEDs and lights illuminate coats, the waistline and the sides of trousers, and profile of shoes, like a glow coming directly from the body being projected outward,” describes Loewe about their latest collection.
Notable pieces are illuminated sleeveless tops and onesies, human body parts-printed tops, displaced waistbands and hems, knitted crop tops, and a pullover with a heart hole on the chest area.
