LOOK: Hermes unveils new Birkin bag for men
The ‘Rock’ bag headlines the Hermes fall 2022 collection
“Optimism, lightness. This collection expresses a heartfelt desire for oxymorons and sophistication, contrasting materials, and superimposed elements tumbling after each other,” shares Hermes about their new collection. The latest men’s capsule is nothing short of what dandy means: clean silhouettes, well-tailored apparel, and the use of luxurious materials like leather, cashmere, wool, and silk on their jacket, trousers, and accessories. But one stand-out piece from the collection is the emergence of the “butch Birkin,” a.k.a. the “Rock” bag.
The new handbag, which is being compared to the spring-summer 2020 Cargo bag (which features superimposed outer pockets), is actually quite the same but different in a way. The “Rock” bag also sports an industrial look but forwards a sleeker take. The bag is accentuated with a metal chain running through the flap connected to a mini pocket and another half-moon zippered pocket located below the classic Birkin flap.
