‘You are now listening to 103.5: Dawn FM’

The Weeknd, a.k.a. Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, just announced the release of his incoming fifth album this January 2022 titled “Dawn FM.”

On an Instagram post, the artist captioned a minute-long video with “New album: Dawn FM // January 7th.” The teaser for his upcoming album showed visuals of him being carried by mysterious hooded figures after his car crashed. In confusion, The Weeknd looks around only for viewers to see him looking much older. The teaser ends with a radio announcer saying, “You are now listening to 103.5: Dawn FM. You’ve been in the dark for way too long, it’s time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms.”

The teaser also revealed a few collaborators for his album with the likes of Quincy Jones, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Oneohtrix Point Never, and actor Jim Carrey.

“Dawn FM” follows the Canadian singer’s fourth album called “After Hours,” which is said to be the artist’s best work yet. “After Hours” broke the record for the most global pre-adds in Apple Music’s history and has been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
