Gucci drops first Hot Wheels limited-edition collectible for centennial celebration

Photographer du jour, Duane Shoots Toys, gives a behind the scenes look at the campaign

In celebration of Gucci’s 100th birthday, the Italian luxury house collaborated with Mattel Creations for its first-ever Hot Wheels collectible—a replica of the Cadillac Seville by Gucci—which was first produced back in the ‘70s.

For this special collab, Gucci tapped three talents to infuse their artistry for the Hot Wheels replica. Artists H3C and photographers Duane Shoots Toys and Hernandez Dreamphography created works for the Gucci Cadillac Seville.

“The Hot Wheels 1:64 scale vehicle is encased in an acrylic display with authentic Gucci box and slip cover. The car features a die-cast metal body and chassis with Real Riders rubber tires, and is finished with exquisite detail authentic to the full scale Seville by Gucci,” describes the fashion house.

In a video post by Duane Shoots Toys, the artist showed how he made a diorama to showcase Gucci’s limited-edition collaboration with Hot Wheels. The artist used a custom race track and Gucci motifs from the house’s colors to its logo to give the shoot a seamless touch. Watch the behind-the-scenes below:
