Bape and Timberland come together for a playful and green collection
Eco-conscious street footwear? Yes, please!
American outdoor wear Timberland is getting a Japanese streetwear treatment with the release of Bape x Timberland.
Two menwear silhouettes from Timberland’s line of leather goods are getting a Bape makeover. The 3-Eye Lug Handsewn shoe, famous for wheat color and hand-sewn construction, will get Bape’s bold pop of color and camo print while the chukka boot will be highlighted with Bape’s lighting star design as well as the ape and camo print.
“Both styles are made using Timberland’s Better Leather. It is sourced from tanneries that are independently audited and rated by the Leather Working Group for responsible water, energy and waste management practices. Timberland only sources from tanneries rated silver or higher. Other eco-conscious materials include ReBOTL fabric made from at least 50 percent recycled plastic and Primaloft insulation made from 55 percent recycled post-consumer materials,” shares the brand.
The drop launched the collection with an arcade themed campaign reflecting Bape’s fun and playful nature and Timberland’s commitment to a greener future. Watch the campaign below:
