News of Grammy award winning artist Harry Styles releasing a beauty line caught Twitter on fire, as netizens posted evidence of a new UK trademark registration for a business under his name. The patent was filed May 25, 2021, where Harry was listed as director for a “wholesale perfume and cosmetics company” called Pleased As Holdings Limited.
It shouldn’t really come as a surprise that the “Golden” singer comes up with his own beauty business. As the epitome of the modern dandy, Harry is fast becoming a global force in entertainment, fashion, and, now, beauty. The celebrated multi-hyphenate is known for gender fluid lifestyle choices from fashion to nail art and makeup, to name a few.
Do you remember Harry’s Vogue cover wherein he wore a frothy lace-trimmed Gucci dress? The 27-year-old British singer was the first solo male cover star in the magazine’s 128 years in publishing. He not only wore a dress on the cover, he even put on skirts and crinoline for the accompanying editorial. “There’s so much joy to be had in playing with clothes,” he tells Vogue. I’ve never thought too much about what it means—it just becomes this extended part of creating something.”
