Bench Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019 took us from the streets to the beach

At the recent Bench Fashion Week, all eyes were on the trends that the brand introduced, along with the designers it collaborated with for the new season.

On day one, Human opened the show with a bright vibe brought by its latest collection of tops, graphic tees, and denim pieces, worn by models who also held bottles from the label’s fragrance line. Cotton On served tropical prints and stripes for the summer while the Bench x Rafe New York collab line showcased its signature floral prints on tops and shirts, complemented by the blue denim worn by Garage cover guys Derrick Monasterio and Grae Fernandez and their fellow Bench ambassadors Kim Chiu, Gabbi Garcia, Kisses Delavin, Michelle Dee, and Marco Gallo. Bench Design Awards alumni also shared their latest collections: Bagasao Studios‘ BLUR had femininity as the base inspiration while Renz Reyes sent out deconstructed and thread-worked pieces and Ched Studio played with textures by using sheer facbrics, leather, and frills.

Girls dominated the second day as it was all about womenswear. The show started with a collection of designer brands that Assembly carries: Mihara Yasuhiro, Christopher Kane, Emilio Pucci, 08Sircus, Bourie, Wndrkammer, Ahin Edition, and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini showcased print-heavy, flowy, and sparkly pieces. These were followed by polka dots, tulle, and satin from Kashieca, with endorser Bea Alonzo walking down the runway along with supermodels Tweetie de Leon, Suyene Chi, Desiree Abesamis, Marina Benipayo, and Patty Betita. Bumgarner Studios closed the show with a spring/summer collection that displayed Mark Bumgarner’s trademark bows fashioned onto dresses and tops, in colors inspired by the vivid hues of dandelions and watermelon.

The Olympic medalist was joined by local celebrities Max Collins, Pancho Magno, Kiko Estrada, Anjo Damiles, and Ruru Madrid.
