UNIQLO HAS YOUR FALL/WINTER 2018 WARDROBE COVERED
AUGUST 8 | Whitespace, Makati
Uniqlo rolled out their Fall/Winter 2018 collection with more designs and features that help make everyday dressing easier and more comfortable. The new season caters to diverse personalities and lifestyles, offering easy-to-coordinate colors, stylish silhouettes, and innovative fabrications to help people dress with style and confidence no matter the purpose and the weather.

LifeWear for daily life
Uniqlo’s presentation rolled out a number of innovations in their design lines that have now become must-have essentials for daily wear. For the Christophe Lemaire-developed Uniqlo U, a vivid fall and winter color palette dominates along with voluminous cuts. Airism features breathable, smooth, lightweight, and layering-friendly pieces that provide the best comfort all day throughout the year. As for jeans, Uniqlo collaborated with one of the world’s top denim makers to create the EZY jeans, which incorporates the look of authentic denim with the incredible comfort of sweatpants. Aside from the classic selvedge, straight cut, and skinny silhouettes, the EZY line now also offers ankle pants that are both stylish and comfortable. Lastly, Uniqlo’s line-up of UT (Uniqlo-T-shirts) continues to evolve with more pop culture collaborations with artists and global brands: Mickey Blue, Love and Mickey Mouse collection by kate Moross, The Game by NAMCO Museum, The Game by Space Invaders, Sanderson, Boston Katagami, and SPRZ NY (featuring works by Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Michael Basquiat).

Cool down
Since the look and feel of fall/winter is already upon the retail fashion industry, Uniqlo also had some very special collections particularly dedicated to the vagaries of the season.

Those making end-of-the-year traveling plans will find pieces from the Heattech line that have been developed to be thinner, lighter, smoother, and warmer even as they help generate and retain heat—great for holiday trips to cooler climes.

From cooler to just plain cold: The Ultra Light Down lineup uses premium down material and a special treatment that eliminates the need for down packs, so jackets and vests come snug, super warm, thin, and unbelievably  lightweight; no need to worry about going over your luggage limit when heading somewhere with snow. Perfect for the monsoon season, the light and soft Blocktech parkas and jackets are perfect for shutting out the rain and wind with their durable, water-repellent coating that keeps one dry and warm—just what we need for this typhoon-ridden time of the year.

Daily wear also gets the fall/winter treatment with Uniqlo’s Seamless Down items designed to feature minimum seams to keep the cold and rain at bay. Build layers for office wear with the Fleece line, which comes in light and soft fabrics that can still keep you warm, and Uniqlo’s world-class Knits that feel as cozy as they look.

JOHN VARVATOS AND NICK JONAS LAUNCHED THEIR FRAGRANCE COLLABORATION
AUGUST 8 | New York
Want to smell like Nick Jonas? Here’s your chance. Menswear designer John Varvatos has launched his very first fragrance that he developed in collaboration with pop artist Nick Jonas. The designer and the singer/songwriter first worked together back in January when they designed a seven-piece capsule collection that featured knits and jackets. For their second collaboration, the two came up with the JVxNJ fragrance, housed in the signature flask packaging that Varvatos is known for, with the perfume logo engraved on a silver dog tag. The scent opens with notes of bergamot, mandarin oil, mint, and bases of sandalwood, clearwood, and ambrox super, “[capturing] the upbeat energy of the city as dusk settles and nightlife comes alive,” described the press release.
