WATCH: Dolly de Leon and Liza Soberano star in a short film
Maya proudly introduces Dolly as ambassador of the banking platform
Last year, the digital banking app Maya introduced Liza Soberano as its brand ambassador. A year later, another Hollywood actor was introduced as part of the company when Maya presented Dolly de Leon as the latest ambassador.
Dolly made waves on the international scene after starring in the film “Triangle of Sadness.” She received the Best Supporting Actress award from various bodies, including the Guldbagge Awards, and Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards. Additionally, she garnered nominations for the same category from the Golden Globes, and British Academy Film Awards, among others.
The announcement took place at One Immersive on One Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City on March 5, 2024. Liza was joined by Pepe Torres, Maya’s chief marketing officer, in announcing the collaboration. Although Dolly was not present during the reveal, she participated in the celebration through a video.
To officially launch the announcement, the company revealed a short film featuring Dolly and Liza playing characters with unique references to iconic Hollywood films and pop culture. From Assassin Liza to Kaiju Dolly, every scene in the film brings fun and excitement, showcasing how Maya is as easy as a wallet and as safe as a bank.
“We’re thrilled to have both Liza and Dolly pushing the boundaries of payments and banking with Maya, as seen in the newly launched short film,” shared Pepe. “They make the country proud as they achieve greater heights on the global scene. They embody the spirit of defiance and optimism, making them the perfect ambassadors for Maya.”
Dolly shared insights on how Maya fits into her current lifestyle. “I use Maya because I hate going to a bank branch, especially with my busy schedule, to fill out forms for a simple transaction when I can do all of that on my phone. And just like Liza, I use my Maya card to pay for everything, especially when I’m traveling to various places for work. It really lets me do things with my money, my bank, my way,” shared the actress.
Currently, the Maya card is globally accepted at over 80 million stores and ATMs worldwide. Qualified customers can also enjoy instant approval for Maya loan products, providing financial flexibility. To learn more, visit http://maya.ph/
