“Avatar: The Last Airbender,” one of Netflix’s most highly anticipated live-action adaptations, now comes with a release date and its first-ever teaser. The streaming platform announced that the adaptation is set to premiere in February 2024.
Adapted from the animated television series of the same name (2005-2008), the eight-episode series will follow Aang, also known as the Avatar, the last living Airbender capable of bending all four elements: water, earth, fire, and air.
His role is to maintain the balance of their world and nature as he faces the ambition of the Fire Nation to conquer their once-peaceful world. Aang’s adventure will be supported by his new companions Katara and Sokka while being pursued by the exiled Fire Nation crown prince, Zuko.
The cast includes Gordon Cormier as Aang, Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Kiawentiio as Katara, and Iaan Ousley as Sokka, with Michael Goi and Jabbar Raisani serving as showrunners.
