Meet the Barbies, Kens, and humans in Greta Gerwig’s live-action “Barbie”

“Barbie” is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated movies this year. Since the trailer was released a couple of weeks ago, people (including myself) have been excitedly talking about how Barbie Land promises to be a perfect place to visit.

With the release of the trailer came the announcement of most of the cast members. In addition to Oscar nominees Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, who will play Barbie and Ken respectively, the film will also feature America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell.

Notable artists playing other Barbies, Kens, and humans include Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Dua Lipa, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef, Alexandra Shipp, Ben-Adir, and Oscar winner Helen Mirren.

Directed by Oscar-nominated writer and director Greta Gerwig, “Barbie” is based on the Mattel toy of the same name and will explore how the Barbies, Kens, and other humans interact in a perfect place.
