People Magazine names Captain America as the titleholder for 2022

The people have spoken, Chris Evans is truly the sexiest man alive. 

Announced at the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the television host himself unveiled the “Captain America” actor as this year’s People Magazine “Sexiest Man Alive.”

During the announcement, fellow “sexy man” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (who was given the same title in 2016) congratulated him during their promotion of their upcoming movie “Red One.” After defending the title, the two then agreed to share the glory.

As for accepting the award from the publication, the 41-year-old actor told People Magazine he will be teased about it but his mom will be pleased. “Really this will just be a point of bullying. It’s ripe for harassment,” he said. “My mom will be so happy. She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”

Chris has been recognized for his fitness and physique when he appeared in movies like “Fantastic Four,” “What’s Your Number,” “The Avengers,” “The Red Sea Diving Resort,” and his recent film “The Gray Man” with Ryan Gosling, who was said to have turned down the “Sexiest Man Alive” title more than once. 

This year is the third year a Marvel Studios character was awarded the title. Back in 2019, Michael B. Jordan (Erik Killmonger in “Black Panther”) won the title while Paul Rudd (“The Ant-Man”) was awarded the title last year. 

Chris’s movie with The Rock is set to premiere this coming December 2022.
