Adidas Philippines introduces the new NMD_V3
The iconic NMD silhouette from the past is making a comeback with a futuristic take. The silhouette that was first released back in 2015 is now sporting a new look in the form of NMD_V3.
The NMD silhouette is one of the most recognizable models of Adidas. This trailblazing footwear can be found in the closet of any notorious sneakerhead. After seven years since its launch, the NMD is back with reengineered form and with sustainability in mind.
The sneaker comprises an upper made with a high-performance yarn which contains at least 50 percent Parley Ocean Plastic—reimagined plastic waste intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities and shorelines—and 50 percent recycled polyester.
For this launch, Adidas Philippines partners with Filipino artists to celebrate the milestone. Produced by Moophs, head of the renowned Philippine-based Tarsier Records, and performed by rapper Kritiko and artist Denise Julia, the original song entitled “Create New Paths” tells a story of individuals who are unafraid to create their own trail in this world.
“Partnering with these local artists to produce an original song specially for this launch is a first for the brand, and we couldn’t have chosen better creators to represent NMD,” said Jen Dacasin, Adidas Philippines brand activation manager. “Just like the song inspires to ‘create new paths’, Denise Julia, Kritiko, and Moophs are all rebellious explorers who’ve forged their way to make names for themselves through their creativity and artistry.”
The NMD_V3 features a mesh that wraps around the foot, a transparent heel clip, and Boost cushioning that’s partially encapsulated in a TPU shell. The sneaker also comes in an array of progressive colorways which you can find at adidas.com.ph.
