Miu Miu forwards Y2K-inspired fall 2022 runway collection
Low rise is on the rise
Miuccia Prada’s spring 2022 collection for Miu Miu was a hit last season. This time, she extended the Y2K-inspired silhouette to a number of menswear looks presented on her fall 2022 collection.
Remember when low-rise jeans were partnered with pointed shoes back in the early 2000s? Well, the latest Miu Miu runway show will refresh your memory just fine. Miuccia threw out the idea of high-waist pants in reference to vintage looks and replaced it with low-riding bottoms revealing undergarment bands paired with check vests, pique shirts, and denim jackets. Accessories included layered belts, loafers, boots, and bags, all made of leather.
The presentation also included a monster animation courtesy of artists Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg. “The animated monster is our repression and anxiety, our hidden collective unconscious, our unacknowledged desires and unspeakable fears–a process of revealing the secrets of the self, and at the same time an encounter with the real other,” shared art curator Yang Beichen about the animation.
