Nigo presents first collection for the house of Kenzo
Fall-winter 2022 marks a new chapter for the brand
The future is blossoming quite prettily for Kenzo. After the unfortunate passing of founder Kenzo Takada due to COVID and the exit of former creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista all happening in less than two years, the incoming new chapter is looking up with the lead of Nigo, its new creative director.
Nigo’s first presentation for fall-winter 2022 was well-supported by his friends in the industry. Pharrell Williams was present together with fellow music artists and fashion personalities like Ye, J Balvin, Gunna, Tyler the Creator and more.
The co-ed presentation was packed with models wearing undeniable classic Nigo-inspired silhouettes. Workwear jackets materialized on the runway together with berets while playful patterns of plaid and stripes were seen on outerwear and floral prints were found on a number of coordinating pieces. Nigo also curated a number of kimono-inspired cover-ups, making the brand’s Japanese roots more apparent for the season.
