Converse’s Pro Leather X2 gets a stylish upgrade
This collaboration with Paria Farzaneh gives the classic basketball shoe a tactical look
Last 2020, Converse and Paria Farzaneh blessed us with their “Number 6” collection. This year, the partnership is back again for a ‘90s-inspired collection and Paria’s Iranian heritage.
“Blending modern utility with nods to her Iranian roots, London menswear designer Paria Farzaneh continues her exploration of the Pro Leather X2 and crafts a bold collection of gear and apparel,” states the brand on social media.
This year’s pair-up includes limited-edition unisex outerwear, t-shirt, bags, and a highlight to Converse’s basketball shoe, the Pro Leather X2. The iconic high-top sports sneakers come in two colorways of Asphalt and Grape Royal, which feature a utilitarian zip-up design with neoprene bootie construction, a zip-up outer shell with a sleek color gradient print, and hints of suede.
The outerwear of hoodie and zip-up jacket in this collection incorporate the English-Iranian designer’s signature paisley print and reflective details on the piping and the pockets while the t-shirt’s design features a nod to Middle Eastern culture like typography in Farsi as well as neon graphic visuals which explains the hand’s pressure points. For the crossbody and bottle bag, the accessories sport utilitarian aesthetics made from woven nylon.
