Louis Vuitton x Fornasetti collaboration presents the beauty of Italian Renaissance
A glimpse to a chic future of fashion seen through age-old aesthetic and craftsmanship
What do you get when the worlds of Louis Vuitton and Fornasetti collide? A whimsical celebration of fashion that mirrors the art of Europe’s distinct cultural era that is the Renaissance.
For its fall-winter 2021 offering, the French maison worked hand-in-hand with the Italian home decor label in bringing to life fashion pieces that are worth to be called masterpieces. With the two’s shared sense of experimental traditionalism, the LV x Fornasetti capsule collection is a glimpse to a chic future of fashion seen through age-old aesthetic and craftsmanship.
Rich color combinations, textures, and design motifs such as architectures, locks, keys, and portraits are beautifully featured in every piece of the collection.
“Exploring the Fornasetti archives had the excitement of an archaeological dig, searching for and finding drawings from the past to give them a new life for Louis Vuitton–for now and the future,” Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière says.
Breathing new life to Greek and Roman art, the collaboration was first presented earlier this year during its fall/winter 2021 runway show held at the Michelangelo gallery in the Louvre in Paris. This August, the French fashion house released a campaign marking the debut of the LV x Fornasetti capsule collection.
