Versace presents a baroque and pop culture hybrid for spring-summer 2023

Donatella played with oversized silhouettes and Versace signature prints

Dolce and Gabanna was not the only one feeling nostalgic this season. Donatella also brought back some iconic motifs of the Versace house and energized them by mixing with pop references of this era.

“Fun and formal, bravado and sensitivity, baroque and pop—the spring-summer 2023 men’s collection is built on the youthful freedom of mixing pieces together,” described the house regarding their recent presentation.

While seeing miniature fine dishes as part of wallet chains and urns carried on the runway was a little bizarre to see, we can’t help but look at the standout pieces in the collection which included a python print coat and pants with neon orange highlight as well as skimpy backless tanks in neon lime, true blue, and black.

There was also a parade of all-over Versace print shirts and multi-color stripes which appeared on coordinates, vests, suits, pants, and bags.

Speaking of bags, the archival Versace hobo bag made an appearance on the runway but this time, it is presented as re-edition and baptized with the name “La Medusa Hobo Repeat.”
