Penshoppe stocked its Denim Lab line with new designs and fits, and the new release was unveiled with a denim lab at Glorietta 3, Ayala Center. The new pieces from the Denim Lab line involves new premium-looking designs, various fits (because not all of us are fans of the skinny jeans, right?), and a renewed emphasis on comfort. Penshoppe incorporated two new patented technologies on their jeans—Coolmax All Season Technology for men, and Coolmax Core Technology for women—that provide ultimate comfort regardless of the weather condition. Also part of the new collection are the Re-tooled pieces, which feature the very trendy cut and sew jeans.

SM Youth finally introduced their newest line, SMYTH. SMYTH lives out palm dreams and Los Angeles hipster sensibilities in tropical print shirts and variously colored denim jeans. The brand also introduced its newest ambassador Troye Sivan, a singer, actor, and internet sensation, who captured his Filipino fanbase with his single (aptly named) Youth. The South African-Australian artist silently visited the Philippines a few weeks earlier to shoot the SMYTH campaign, where he wears pieces that carry the brand’s distinct, of-the-moment, young, and easy aesthetic. The latest line dropped last July 24 and is available in all SM stores.—Jerico Villamonte

TOD’S FALL/WINTER 2017-18 COLLECTION
July 27 | Makati City, Metro Manila

It was a perfect day to launch TOD’S fall/winter 2017-18 collection: rainy, chilly, and gloomy, to match their freeze-proof collection.

The launch was held at the Presidential suite of the Fairmont Hotel in Makati, and it was an exhibit of Italian craftsmanship. Traditional techniques and new ideas create the contemporary feel of the pash jacket. Although light as a feather, it also caters to winter needs through its warm leather material.

As for footwear, moccasins, half-boots, and ankle boots carry the stout WJ rubber sole. Tod’s craft treatment and polishing service, through the expert hands of its shoemakers, turn every shoe into a personalized model in the exquisite ageing of leather.
