Eyewear evolution: From necessity to fashion statement

Discover the latest trends in eyeglasses and sunglasses from Ray-Ban and Sunnies Studios

Eyewear has evolved from a purely functional necessity to a must-have fashion accessory. Beyond their primary role in correcting vision, eyeglasses have become a powerful expression of personal identity, with countless designs, colors, and materials available to suit every face and personality. Whether enhancing a professional look or adding a touch of flair to a casual outfit, eyeglasses now play a crucial role in daily life, serving both aesthetic and practical purposes. As a result, they are not just tools for better sight, but vital accessories that complete and elevate one’s overall appearance.

With this evolution, eyewear brands continue to innovate their offerings to stay at the forefront of the industry. Classic American brand Ray-Ban has recently released their “Change” collection, eyewear frames which seamlessly transitions from plain to printed whenever exposed to light. These responsive frames introduce cutting-edge technology that utilizes light-responsive dyes activated by UV light. From subtle indoor hues to bold outdoor statements, the frames maintain an elegant appearance, showcasing their versatility in any setting. The Change Collection is available in the Ray-Ban Wayfarer Change model in four captivating colors – Opal Gray, Opal Brown, Opal Light Blue, and Opal Blue – with each frame revealing stunning patterns when exposed to sunlight.

Another brand that is always ahead of the curve when it comes to trendy eyewear is Sunnies Studios. The brand, which is now the number one optical shop in the Philippines, has released a collection inspired by 90s workwear that effortlessly rides the Work Siren trend. The brand released three models: Lane, Tippy, and Devon, which all boast sleek frames in colors like basalt, dark tort, and crimson, perfect for both on-duty and off-duty looks. All the frames are made with acetate and start at P1,995 a pair with a free eye exam.
