Fall 2024: Fendi highlights hybrid  pieces for new collection

The fashion house partnered with architects and engineers for the latest capsule

Streamlining the practicality of clothes for the great outdoors and sartorial sensibilities of a wardrobe made for city-living, artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear Silvia Venturini Fendi centers the newest collection on hybrid living.

Notable pieces in the collection include Scottish kilt-inspired pieces such as flat-front checked skorts, pleated shorts, and classic trousers. In addition, outerwear pieces also made statement on the runway featuring contrast collars made with suede and corduroy, and some pieces accented with shearling piping either on the cuffs or the hems.

For the bags and shoes, highlights include the labels collaboration with the Beijing, Los Angeles, and Rome-based architecture studio Ma Yansong/MAD Architects. The partnership revealed deconstructed Peekaboo ISeeU  bags with varnished aluminum contours on the facade and handle which isa nod to MAD’s organic and flowing architectural style. For footwear, a slip-on futuristic sneaker features an organic, injection-molded sole and upper with two-tone bubble details and metallic accents.

Another collaborator for this season is Devialet which is a French team of “haute technologie” engineers. This partnership produced a portable handheld speaker and wrapped in a technical FF case in brown and tobacco with gold or gray and black with silver. This state-of-the-art 360-degree stereo speaker offers outstanding audio through a unique architecture and proprietary acoustic mapping technology that adapts its stereo soundstage to its environment to deliver perfect treble and bass on the go.
