Alipay+ partners with GCash for Disney+ special packages
If you’re a serial streamer and don’t have the GCash app yet, let this news convince you to download the app today. Weeks ahead of the arrival of Disney+ in the Philippines, GCash, together with Alipay+, announced their team-up for a special package when users subscribe to the streaming service using their GCash e-wallet via Alipay+ rewards.
As part of the early bird deal from Nov. 4 to 16, 2022, subscribers who will use the GCash app will receive a special package including Disney+ annual subscriptions.
“We’re delighted that consumers in the Philippines will very soon be able to access our vast library of entertainment content on Disney+ and connect with their favorite characters and stories anytime they want,” says David Shin, senior vice president and managing director for Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong of The Walt Disney Company. “Consumers will be able to stream exclusive originals, blockbuster films, series, documentaries, and incredible content from Disney’s iconic suite of brands and franchises.”
Disney+ is known to bring the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Pixar animation, Disney, Star Wars, and Emmy-award winning series to streaming devices. Aside from “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Only Murders in The Building,” “The Bear,” “The Simpsons,” and “The Kardashians,” the brand also brings Korean content featuring BTS and other top Asian stars in the channel.
“Through GCash and Alipay+, Disney fans can enjoy their favorite movies and shows in just a few taps. After the debut of Disney+ on Nov. 17, subscribers in the Philippines can continue to use their GCash e-wallets via Alipay+ to subscribe on the popular global streaming service.
