German brand Birkenstock introduces the Kyoto sandals to the Philippines

When you think of sandals, one heritage brand that immediately pops to mind is Birkenstocks. Since its inception in 1774, the brand has had a cult following. The German brand is a go-to brand for individuals who are looking for stylish yet comfortable footwear.

One model that’s getting a lot of attention now is the Boston clogs, dominating Tiktok feeds the world over. But another model yet to take the lead is this minimalist sandal that will surely elevate one’s everyday style—the Birkenstocks Kyoto.

Kyoto is a model inspired by the brand’s Zürich sandals but instead of buckles, this one sports a hook and loop closure that hugs the feet for all-day comfort. The model also comes in a couple of styles including materials in nubuck leather, suede—which gives the feeling of a second skin—and the newly released model that comes in textile.

Currently available in two colorways of black and eggshell, the material used for this latest Kyoto collection is canvas. This specific style is said to be inspired by the Japanese traditional martial arts uniform which is breathable and comfortable at the same time.

For this model, the footbed comes in suede lining, Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) sole, and anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed making it perfect for a casual workday or an all-nighter event.
