SUSTAINABLE FASHION: Gap’s ‘Recycle Your Blues’ campaign is back

Get 40 percent off when you donate your jeans

American retail brand Gap continues its support for sustainable fashion with the return of its “Recycle Your Blues” campaign from August 13 to 31, 2022.

Patrons of the brand can donate any pair of jeans (as long as it’s reusable and sanitized) to get 40 percent off on regular-priced jeans.

“The heritage of Gap has been solidified because of denim jeans—different styles and washes, all made for all generations,” said the brand. “Throughout the years, technological improvements have been made for this iconic piece, but one thing stands out: the Washwell Program. Denim under this program is made using at least 20 percent less water compared to conventional wash methods. 447 million liters of water have been saved ever since 2016 and the brand is well on its way to achieving the goal of a water-resilient supply chain by 2050.”

In 2019, Gap was able to gather 755 pairs of jeans and was given to children in shelters and impoverished communities. This year, Gap is partnering with Goodwill Philippines Inc., which is a non-profit organization that is committed to the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and the disadvantaged through skill empowerment.
