Rick Owens’ fall 2022 collection is a lightbulb moment

Inspired by the shapes of ancient Egypt

Dubbed as “Strobe,” Rick Owens’ fall-winter 2022 collection highlights the brand’s DNA of punk and grunge but injected with Egyptian spirit. While describing his latest work, the designer mentioned his trip to Egypt back in October last year. He shared that the temples and tombs inspired him as well as the shapes of the hieroglyphs, translating them into fluorescent helmets which glowed on the runway.

Pieces in black were present in both apparel, shoes, and accessories while a small number of tunics and leather jackets appeared in pink and orange colorways. A number of varied outerwear were put on the spotlight with fur-lined jackets taking the lead followed by puffer jackets with exaggerated shoulders, and duvet coats with zipped hoods.
