Maison Kitsune officially appoints Marcus Clayton as creative director
A new chapter dawns at the fashion house as headed by the British designer
Maison Kitsune finds a replacement for its former creative designer Yuni Ahn. After three seasons with the brand, Yuni and Maison Kitsune mutually decided to separate. Now that the French-Japanese brand is entering a new phase as they announce the official takeover of British designer Marcus Clayton.
Marcus has worked with big brands prior to entering the maison. He has worked with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Balmain, and Fenty, taking on design roles. On an Instagram post, Maison Kitsune shares, “We’re pleased to announce the official appointment of creative director, Marcus Clayton, as we’re entering into a new chapter of development and creation for our Paris fashion house.”
Since being with the brand last 2020, Marcus has been overseeing the collections for men and women. Discussing what he plans for the brand, the designer says, “I want to enlarge people’s perceptions of Maison Kitsuné. It has an authentic DNA that combines Paris and Tokyo lifestyles, so the goal is to amplify this through a wider fashion offering that showcases our everyday creativity and savoir-faire.”
