LOOK: Diesel now sells secondhand denim items
The Italian brand joins the global movement toward a more sustainable future
A lot of big brands in both fast-fashion and designer labels have stepped up toward circularity. One of the latest recruits is Diesel.
The Italian retail clothing company has announced their leap to a greener future with the launch of Diesel Second Hand.
Diesel Second Hand is a curated line of pre-owned and worn-in Diesel denim pieces. Diesel recollects the original denim in their stores and are carefully evaluated by their experts and then reconditioned by their suppliers before finally brought back in-store for reselling.
For the reconditioning steps, first they wash and sanitize all the garments, then they do small repairs on the denims like replacing broken buttons, zipper, and small tears. After such, the garments are then printed with their Second Hand logo and finally processed with polygiene, which is a garment treatment with anti-microbial, odor-resistant, and garment-protective properties.
