Bulgari welcomes Tomohisa Yamashita as brand ambassador
The Italian luxury brand adds Japanese singer, actor, and host Tomohisa Yamashita to its powerhouse list of endorsers
On April 14, 2021, Bulgari announced that Tomohisa Yamashita, better known as Yamapi, will be joining their circle of ambassadors, as he headlines “Tomohisa Yamashita discovers Paraiba.” The brand also intricately discussed what Yamapi wore for the campaign stating, “Member of the Bvlgari Family, @tomo.y9, witnessed the grand reveal of Bvlgari’s Paraiba High Jewelry collection in Japan. While exploring the extravaganza of colors, Tomohisa matched the striking Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Skeleton watch with an opulent High Jewelry brooch featuring 7 sapphires and 3 different cuts of diamonds.”
Yamapi started his career with Japanese talent agency Johnny and Associates when he was 11 years old. He appeared in small acting gigs until he became huge in the country as a member of J-pop group called News in 2006 and later on decided to go solo two years after. Sony Music Japan took the lead on his music career while Johnny and Associates managed his acting until October 2020, where the artist left his mother agency to build his career overseas.
Yamapi also posted on his own Instagram account about his appointment saying, “I am very honored to join the @bulgari family”.
Apart from bagging a big deal with the luxury fashion brand, Yamapi is also set to star in the Hollywood production “The Man from Toronto” alongside actors Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson.
